Brenham ISD Seeking Nominations for Distinguished Alumni

On September 4, 2009, the Brenham Public Schools will celebrate its 134th anniversary as the oldest public school district in the state. One of the highlights of the day will be the introduction of several Distinguished Alumni from the district.

Nominations for the individuals to honor as Distinguished Alumni are currently being sought from the community. Nominees are expected to have graduated from the Brenham Public Schools, plus be a minimum of 40 years of age. Click here to download the nomination form. The deadline for submitting names for this year's selection is Monday, June 22, 2009. Any applications received after that date will not be eligible for consideration in the 2009 selection process.  They will, however, be kept in the file for consideration in a subsequent year.

School Cafeterias at Brenham ISD ‘Serve’ Parents Online

Brenham ISD School Cafeterias have implemented “Lunch Money Now.”

Lunch Money Now permits parents to access their student's cafeteria account via the Internet. Linked from Brenham’s home page (www.brenhamisd.net) under Parent Information, it provides the ability to view the student’s account balance, view/print the student's recent purchase history and make deposits to the child’s meal account using a debit/credit card. Deposits are recorded on a secure (SSL) site and are typically available on the student's account within the hour of the transaction.

Lunch Money Now allows deposits to multiple accounts with a single credit card transaction and allows parents to subscribe for e-mail warnings when their child’s account dips below a specified threshold.

Brenham ISD joins other school districts in Texas using Lunch Money Now. This service has been popular with students and parents alike because of its convenience. District employees like it because it saves time and reduces the need to handle cash.

With the help of Lunch Money Now, Brenham ISD Child Nutrition Department hopes that you will find this an efficient and convenient service.

ViewStudentInfo.net (VSI) allows parents/guardians of Brenham High School and Brenham Junior High School students to have online access to grades and attendance. The system has been updated for the 2007-08 school year, and all parents/guardians who used VSI during the 2006-07 school year have been issued new usernames and passwords. If you have never used VSI, contact the counselor at your student’s campus to fill out the necessary paperwork or download the VSI Application form here and return it to the counselor at your student's school.
